Searching For a Heart of Gold

For your viewing pleasure, here are some snaps from the night of my 21st. It was a supreme night that ended with Heather and I in my bed at 5am having deep conversations about life, love, and the universe (at least I think).

(my feeble attempt at trying to do 21... it was backwards)

another bestie, Megan! More on her later. She's pretty rad.

I've been really into coloring lately. One of theses days I will finish the Indie Rock coloring book!

SNAPSHOT:

Listening: Broken Bells, Belle & Sebastian, random mixes that I have found recently.

Reading: "Money" by Martin Amis. It feel appropriate - he sounds as equally lost as I feel these days.

watching: "Mad Men" - STILL, a documentary on Hitler and Stalin, "I Love Lucy".

wearing: PJ's right now, but earlier I wore black flats from Target, a pair of grey Old Navy skinny jeans, and an old Target shirt that says Amsterdam on it. I was trying to keep it casual and cool, just like the weather.

Wanting: a cup of tea, an eyebrow wax, some time with friends that I haven't seen in awhile. Also, I'm really tired of feeling bad due to allergies. Come on, October!

Plans of the day: I went to class, took my car to the shop, and then had a glorious afternoon nap. Then, class again, apartment viewing, and general family times. Nothing extrodinary, but it was still a rather nice day.

Is it really September?

I guess it is...I love fall ( and fall fashion!) as much as the next girl..but I really am a summer person.I love the heat,swimming,waterparks...dresses...all that crap.I am so sad to see it slipping away...and I've been trying to console myself with the thought that at least our utility bill will be cheaper.

So anywho, here is what I wore the other night...trying to be fallish with my colors but still be comfortable in the still very hot South.

Dress and necklace:Hedda.
Tshirt: Target

Shoes: Splash. These were given to me by a friend when I was like,14 or so...and she had them for quite a while before that. They have held up pretty good I'd say!

Slave bracelet: A lovely hemp artist at the Flying Monkey sold it to me:)

Nails: I have had an obsession with glue on nails lately. I can't afford acrylics, and my natural nails don't grow ,really. So glue it is! But this week's selection sucks.Last week's nails were from THE DOLLAR STORE, and were sooo good. They held up all week, the color stayed, the glue didn't show up all bubbly under them...now these are "Fashion Diva Nails" from target..and the first day I broke the thumbnail off(booooo. I put it back on for pics though.) and now,3 days in...the color is all chipped off and I am missing the one from my left ring finger too.I'm going to try the other brands they have...but I have a feeling I may stick with the $store ones!
(rant over.)

Now, as promised, some info on the train collage.
This was the most interesting thing I found. It's a relative of the artist, L.Kersch. Google him to see more of his work!

Now I'm off to finish adding more things to my shops. they all have new merch this week!!
